ISSUES
Real problems need a representative who understands them from the inside.
Sandra's priorities come from her work, her family, and her community — not a focus group.
HEALTHCARE
Healthcare is a right.
Let's make it one.
The system is already there. Medicare has the infrastructure. What it lacks is the political will.
Sandra supports Medicare for All — not as a talking point, but as a lived conviction from twenty years in healthcare settings watching patients get denied, delayed, and bankrupted. She supports amending the Constitution to make Medicare a right, removing healthcare from the battlefield of partisan politics once and for all.
And right now — before that fight is won — Sandra is committed to protecting what exists. The cuts in H.R. 1 will devastate Medi-Cal recipients, people with disabilities, seniors, and working families in CA-20. Sandra knows how to help people navigate those cuts legally and practically, and she will work in Congress to reverse them.
DISABILITY RIGHTS
Every person deserves dignity, access, and a seat at the table.
Sandra works with people with disabilities every single day. She has watched the systems meant to support them be chronically underfunded, complicated to navigate, and treated as an afterthought by the people making decisions in Washington.
She has served on the Self-Determination Program Local Advisory Committee for Kern Regional Center. She knows what works and what fails. And she will bring that knowledge to Congress.
Sandra's son uses California's Regional Center system. This isn't abstract policy — it's her family.
VETERANS
Our veterans kept their promise. Congress must keep ours.
CA-20 is home to China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station — one of the most strategically important military installations in the country. And yet for years, our district has had zero real representation fighting for the veterans and military families who call this region home.
Vince Fong's own congressional website doesn't include a link to the VA.
Sandra will hold Town Halls specifically for veterans and military families. She will make sure every veteran in CA-20 knows what they're entitled to, how to navigate the system, and has a direct line to her office.
WATER AND THE CENTRAL VALLEY
CA-20 feeds the country. It's time Washington noticed.
The Central Valley is an agricultural engine. Water policy, drought management, and energy investment are not abstract concerns here — they are the economic lifeblood of our communities.
Sandra will fight for sustainable, fair water policy that serves farmers, residents, and future generations. She believes the Central Valley's needs have been too long traded away in Sacramento and Washington backroom deals.
IMMIGRATION
Nuanced.
Accountable.
Human.
Immigration is one of the most complicated policy challenges in America — and one of the most personal. CA-20 is home to farmworkers, veterans, mixed-status families, and multi-generational communities whose lives don't fit neatly into a political talking point.
Sandra supports immigration reform that is nuanced enough to reflect that reality, accountable to the rule of law, and human enough to recognize that the people at the center of this debate are exactly that — people.
She supports a pathway to legal status for undocumented workers who have built their lives and livelihoods here, similar to the amnesty passed under the Reagan administration. She believes border security and human dignity are not mutually exclusive. And she will never support policy that uses fear as a substitute for solutions.
CA-20's agricultural economy depends on immigrant labor. Any honest conversation about this district's future has to include the people who are already making it work.
REAL REPRESENTATION IN CD20
You shouldn't have to wonder if your Congressperson knows you exist.
Sandra's first promise is simple: she will show up.
Regular Town Halls in every part of the district. Personal responses to constituent correspondence. An office that actually picks up the phone. A representative who reads your letters and answers them — not one who ignores them.
This shouldn't be extraordinary. But in CA-20, it would be.
This race is winnable. But only if we show up.
Sandra is running a grassroots campaign powered by people — not PACs. Your $10, your afternoon, your voice — it all matters.
